I live in İzmir. The demographics of the city has always been predominantly immigrants since its early days. The city is located on a passageway from asia to europe, and from eurasia to africa. The city is under kurdish invasion since early 80s. Kurds were an insignificant minority until late 20th century. Their tiny population exploded in 20th century. Each kurdish man having 10 children on average they are now several tens of millions in numbers. One thing about kurds is that they don’t really have their own culture. They assimilate and mutate the prevailing culture of where they live. They really took over İzmir’s bakeries. There isn’t a single bakery left that is not run by kurds. Just like they do it to everything else they change what they take over. Their bakeries lack hygiene, taste, quality. They degenerate centuries’ millennia’s of culture and heritage. They really are like a virus a parasite. So I have to either stick to branded chain supermarket bread or baking my own.
